Here’s a conversation I had just a few minutes ago. This was on Instagram with someone who randomly said “hello” about a week ago.

Yes, this happens to every female-presenting person. Yes, it’s inappropriate. Yes, strangers deserve kindness, but you should always know your boundaries and stick to them no matter what.

I used to be very ashamed to speak up for myself, especially online, for fear of backlash (I’m not exactly hiding myself on the internet). But, my response was, “that’s very misogynistic of you to assume all of that.” I then blocked and deleted this person.

Never be afraid to do this. Know that you are worth being treated with respect and kindness.
