If you saw my quotes from a few days ago, you saw one I posted that read, “I think if you’re afraid of something, it means you should probably do it.” If I’m really honest with myself, it’s teaching that I’ve been afraid of. I’ve always been happy doing sectionals and teaching private lessons, but my early experience as a band director scared me out of wanting to do that again. The irony of that is, I love band. I love teaching.
So, as my last day of work in my most recent attempt at working in IT comes to an abrupt and early close, I’m saying goodbye to the IT world and jumping into teaching again. I’m all-in this time. I won’t be just a self-employed studio teacher; I’m going after a band director job. It’s what I love, and it’s what I went to college to learn how to do.
I’d like to say thank you to all the friends and family who supported me over the years, who never said, “I told you so” (though secretly thought it), who always stood by and let me try out this whole IT “thing”. I enjoy working with computers, but it’s not for me.
A big thank you to my hubby who, without his love and support, I wouldn’t have the guts to do this.
